The next beach I am going to visit is Tayrona, Santa Marta, Colombia in South America the capital is Bogotá. Brazil, Ecuador, Peru ,and Venezuela,, the Caribbean sea and the pacific ocean border Colombia. The G.P.S. coordinates are 11'N 74'W. The average temperature is 53 degrees Farenheit. The beach has a lot of palm trees. It pretty much looks like any other beach. Indian tribes inhabited Colombia before the Spanish arrived and little is known about them. In 1510 the Spanish founded the first European settlement on American mainland. Santa Marta was settled in 1525 near the Tayrona Beaches. It was te first Spanish settlement. Because of the nice views and warm climate it is popular with tourists. The distance is 16, 878 km from the Philippines. Kayak.com could not get me there. We could not find a way to get there or how much it costs or where to go to get there. I think you would fly from the Philippenes to Hawaii to refuel and then fly to Colombia. Then walk around to find somewhere to rent a car and rent one and then drive to the beach. But first get a map of the beaches.
There is less people on the beach in Colombia.

Beaches - Post #5
I am going to White Beach in the Philippines. The capitol of the Republic of the Philippines is Manila. The Philippines are a group of over 7,000 tropical islands. It is surrounded by the South China Sea, the Philippines Sea, the Sulu Sea and the Celebes Sea. The GPS coordinates are 130 North and 1220 East. The climate is tropical. The average temperature is 21-34 degrees Celsius all year long. The hottest it gets is 38 degrees Celsius. There are an average of 20 typhoons each year. They bring heavy rain and strong winds and cause millions and millions worth of damage. It rains 82 inches a year.
There are a lot of sailboats on the beach and in the water. The sand is definitely white. Palm trees are everywhere. People are walking up and down the beach and the Ocean is a very light greenish blue color.
First inhabitants were Tabon man who lived there at least 47,000 years ago. People lived in the caves to survive the ice age. People walked to the Philippines over land bridges from the Malay Peninsula, Borneo and maybe Australia 250,000 years ago. Tool-wielding Indonesians arrived 48,000 years ago. A thousand years later the Tabon man arrived.
The Maylays came 2000 years ago and they were potters, weavers and sailors. They built permanent settlements and prospered until the 16th century when the Spanish arrived. Ferdinand Magellan landed at Samar on March 16, 1521. The Spanish took over the Philippines and named the islands after King Philip of Spain.
America fought the Spanish and defeated them and took over the country until Word War II. During World War II fighting took place on the islands. Japan occupied the Philippines. Gen. Douglas MacArthur came in and fought the Japanese and took back the Philippines. 1.1 million Filipinos died during the war. After World War II the country including more than 3/4 of its schools and universities were in ruins. The United States gave aid in the form of high-interest loans to rebuild the country. The country is now ruled by a president that was elected by the people of the Philippines.
The location is important because it has been owned by several countries.
White Beach, Boracay Island, Philippines is 5,247 kilometers from Ocean Beach, Australia. I will get there by airplane, driving and boat.
First you have to fly from Perth, Australia to Manila, Philippines by jet. It requires one stop. The cost cheapest airline, Malaysia Airlines, is $590. Then you have to take a 50 minutes flight from Manila to Kalibo, Aklan. then you need to travel for two hours by land by bus or jeepney to Caticlan. In Caticlan you have to fill out some travel forms and then you can go by boat to the island of Boracay Island and White Beach.
It feels stupid because I can just go to a beach in America and not waste as much gas and also not pollute the environment so much because it takes thousands of gallons of jet fuel just to get there just so I can enjoy myself. The only way I would go out of the country and this state is if I was completely surrounded by other countries and there was no beach. I'd prefer to stay in Maine and go to beaches rather than waste time and money going around the world and give other countries our money so other countries can get a better economy, so why not just spend the money here and help our state economy.

Beaches - Post #4
I am going to go to Ocean Beach in Western Australia The capitol of Australia is Sydney. There are no countries bordering Australia. The oceans that border Australia are the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The GPS coordinates are Latitude: -34.986149 / Longitude: 117.282516. Average high is 89.6 degrees in summer and 57.2 in the winter. Ocean Beach is white, a mile long and surrounded by mountains.
Australia has in interesting culture and history. Aboriginals settled there 40,000 years ago. The Dutch came in the 1600s. Albany is near the beach and was settled in the 1800s. In 1890 they had a gold rush and every one came to get gold. People settled down and didn't move. They discovered oil and gas in the 1970s and more people came. The good economy brings people to Australia now.
According to Google, you have to kayak across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii, then to Japan, then finally to Australia. Hahahahahahaha. It is 16, 733 miles. By kayak and car it would take over 56 days. I recommend using an airplane. The cost to fly there is $1,691.
The only problem was going by car and kayak. I don't think I can paddle over 3,000 miles between countries and speak Japanese.
The beach in Maine has a pier and the beach in Australia has no pier. There are a lot more people in Maine. There are less people at Ocean Beach. The beach in Australia is hotter in the summer time, but not as cold in the winter.

Beaches Post 3
I am going to visit Old Orchard Beach. The country is United States and the capitol is Washington. DC. The countries that border it are Mexico and Canada. The bodies of water that border the country are the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. The GPS Coordinates are 43.517434, 70.377588. The climate is usually warm and sunny except in winter. The average high temperature is 57.25 degrees and the average low temperature is 36.08 degrees. There are lots of people, a big pier and its sandy.
The first settler was Thomas Rogers in 1657. Ten malitiamen held off against 150 indians a few years letter. Thomas Rogers house was burned. In 1820 the first Inn was built. The new railroad brought many vistors in 1842. The first pier was built in 1898 and was damaged by the tides and they had to built a different one. In 1907 it was burned to the ground. It was rebuilt. It was damaged by a storm in 1909 making it shorter. The pier was destroyed by a storm in 1978. The pier standing today opened in 1980. People have vacationed there for 250 years.
The location is important because millions of people from around their world spend their money at Old Orchard Beach and that is good for Maine.
It is 96.6 miles from Birch Point Beach State Park to Old Orchard Beach. I rode by car. It cost $14.55 to get there by car.
